A True Christmas

This year we enjoyed every moment of the Christmas season with David.
Last year, David's first Christmas, he woke up Christmas morning with the flu after Angie had been suffering with it for two days. So, our first Christmas of a family of three was really celebrated this year!
Christmas Eve day David continued to look at the chimney and call for Santa. He did not truly understand, but did know Santa was coming to our house down the chimney.

Here is our sweet little guy ready for the Christmas Eve service at church

Mimi and Ed joined us too

The beginning of the service had several kid favorite Christmas carols, kids were asked to go down to the front of our church, Rudolph came out and all the kids received red noses. David threw his across the church and that was the end of that. He did fairly well for a one year old, but David did have to leave during the sermon with Greg. They joined us again for the candle light and David tried very hard to blow out the candles.

While setting out cookies for Santa, David took out his paci and picked up Santa's cookies. He took a few bites and left the rest for Santa. Good thing Santa does not mind sharing!

Here is David coming down stairs on Christmas morning

David's first gift of Christmas, M&M's from his stocking. He was happy and we had to gently nudge him to look at anything else

he found a new truck under the tree from Santa

and then he found his big Santa present before Mommy and Daddy were ready. We let Bella out to go to the bathroom and David caught a glimpse of his new house

it was hard to get him back inside, but he came reluctantly...
he ripped and opened and played

and Bella did the same

we then headed to Greg's parents for Christmas with the House's
David got a new back truck... just like Daddy's

David was not interested in opening gifts, so he sat in his truck and Daddy helped him open the presents

mid morning we piled back in the car and headed to Kingwood for Christmas with Angie's extended family

David enjoyed Cousin Brooke's doll house

and Barbie car... he crammed himself in for a ride

it was time to open more gifts

after a long Christmas Day we headed to Crosby to have Christmas with Angie's immediate family the next morning
David crawled in Santa's sleigh after throwing the Snoopy Santa out

neither of the babies were interested in opening gifts really

David did get some new pj's from Gram and Grandad that he requested be put on right away. He also got a new Elmo book and phone - LOVED IT

Gram and Grandad also gave David a new picnic table

Aunt Christie and Uncle Brian gave him a new grill

after all of the excitement David decided to fill his pj's with trucks from Gram's toy closet

then he found Grandad's shoes

after naps the cousins played

David had lawnmower time with Grandad, at David's begging request

then played in the sand with Gram

we went on a long walk

and played at the park

after all of the fun David and Grandad needed a nap

Angie's parents rode back to Round Rock with her and thankfully stayed and helped her get our house in order... Christmas gifts organized, closets cleaned out, and Christmas decorations packed up ready for next year. They even babysat David so we could have a dinner out!
Here are David with Gram and Grandad enjoying the new picnic table!

We enjoyed the Christmas so much with the joy of David, the love of our families, and time with each other.

"8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” ~Luke 2:4-12 NIV
Oh come let us adore him!
