We took David to the circus Sunday evening. It was not too crowded being the night before school for the Austin area. David was so excited all day Saturday, he told anyone that would listen that he was going to the circus. After church Sunday we got in the car and he said, "Now we can go to the circus!" Poor thing had to wait until after nap time.
After a good nap and a snack we headed to the Erwin center for David's first time at the circus. He was ready! We sang the National Anthum
David enjoyed a dinner snack
There was a big beginning production
and then the acts...
tight rope walkers
and by this point in the show David has lost all interest. He was here to see tigers and lions and the talent was not all too impressive to him. Tigers and Lions would be coming after intermission...
And David enjoyed the tigers for about 2 minutes. He then wanted to go pet them. When he realized that he was not going to be allowed to pet the tigers he was more than disappointed. We had to leave... David screamed, " I want to go home." We only saw the end of the tigers from the top of the Erwin center on our way out. We missed the seond half of the circus.
I guess we have somehting to look forward to if we ever visit the circus again. And now we know the circus may be a little slow for two year olds; especially when they might be under the impression petting the animals is what happens at the circus.
From the backseat yesterday Angie heard this request, "Take me to Starbucks please."
Angie's response, " Mimi takes you there!"
Before going to bed last night Angie asked David, "David, what is tomorrow?"
David responded, "A David and Mommy Day."
Greg followed up with, "What kind of day is it?"
David's response, " A fun day."
Angie's heart leapt and eyes filled with tears, oh how she misses him when they are apart!
If you need them today, you may have to wait. They are out, doing fun!
