Christmas Time

We had a time filled with family and fun this Christmas.  We are very blessed to have so many that love us.
Christmas morning began at our house...
David was spoiled by Santa...
checking to see if Santa ate his cookies and drank his milk, Santa even left David a thank you note...
 so much to look at...
 time to check the stockings...
David had to be encouraged to open his presents from Mommy and Daddy
A doctor kit just like Daddy's!...
After getting dressed and packing the car we headed to Mimi and Grandpa Ed's for more Christmas fun...

David was surprised to get this...

Daddy took a turn on Kayla's new scooter...
Patrick did not like his ride in the Gator
the cousins riding their new toys...
After a very full morning we drove to Houston to visit Angie's extended family, more cousin fun...
 and more presents of course...

 The boys...
the boys and Lila... poor Brooke never made it in the cousin picture...
After  a long Christmas day we packed up and drove to Gram and Grandad's house.  The next morning it was Christmas again!

 cousin love...
David loved Lila's new gift...

 And the best for last...
a new scooter, yea!
so much Christmas fun
and time with loving family!

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Jesus with Mimi and Ed Monday evening.  We headed to church together for a beautiful candlight service.  David did fairly well considering he does not sit still often.

There was a little sing along of Christmas Carols.  David sang along...
While down at the front of the church David saw Rudolph, which he continued to ask about even after church was over
and Frosty made an appearance
there was a little snow that fell as well

David returned to his seat with some new bubbles from Dr. Haney:)
We had a beautiful service of candleight and worship of our Savior
After dinner and some play time with cousins it was time for bed.  David took carrots out for the reindeer
he wanted to make sure the reindeer could see them
he took a quick look for Santa overhead
and made his way inside to put cookies and milk our for Santa
he really wanted one for himself, but teeth were brushed and David knew Satna would be hungry.
so fun the joy a child brings at Christmas!

Merry Christmas

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6
What a promise we were given 800 years before the savior was born... what joy we have in the birth of our Savior.
"8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” ~Luke 2:4-12 NIV

It is amazing to think that a baby changed everything!  We wish you all a Merry Christmas as we celebrate Jesus; what hope we have in Him!

Christmas Magic

This year the season has had a bit of magic as we celebrate and teach David about this season.
We also celebrate that our little guy turned 31 months old on Saturday.
As we have moved through these weeks of Advent we have seen David's face full of wonder and delight as he experiences this season for the glory and hope that it represents.
He has spent many nights studying the lights, ornaments, and garland on the Christmas tree.

He has stood at the fire place looking up at the Nativity and talked to Baby Jesus
He awakes each morning looking for his friend Elfie
And finds him doing the funniest things
We have driven through the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights and David says things like, "OOO look at that, its pretty!"
We have baked cookies

Every night as the lights come on outside we hear a sweet little two year old voice say with much excitement, "It's Christmas time!"
David has even had fun this past weekend running through the sprinklers at the end of December celebrating the warm weather... and yes he has his goggles ready
But most of all we have tried to teach him about the promise of Jesus and the hope that He gives us.

And on the third week of Advent out of the blue as we blew out the candles David began singing Happy Birthday to Jesus, maybe he is understanding just a little.
Merry Christmas!
