Three in One celebration

Today our sweet little boy turned 35 months old... we can't believe that in a month we will have a three year old.  Today Adam is also 35.5 weeks old.  Again, hard to believe in just 4.5 weeks we will be meeting our second son.  On top of these two milestones today was also Earth Day.
At the park this morning we began an Earth Day scavenger hunt.  We did not quite finish.  So this evening after dinner Daddy helped us finish our hunt in the back yard before we celebrated David's 35 months with an ice cream cone.
The stick you see in every picture came home from the park with us... it was a prized possession all day long.  Also  a doodle bug joined our home which is now loose in our living room somewhere.  Angie was not aware that David brought it in and then left it to crawl away on its own.:)

Happy 35 months sweet boy, we love you!

Spring Carnival

Last night our neighborhood Elementary School had their Spring Carnival.  For a week our neighbors and nieces have been talking about all of the fun and David did not want to miss it.  We went for a couple of hours and had a great time.  Here are just a few of the things David did while we were there.  Mommy kept getting distracted with neighbors, friends, and co-workers and missed a few events with the camera.

Conversation with David

Last night in the bath tub
Angie:  David what was your favorite part of today?
David: Silent (thinking maybe)
Angie: Was it walking and playing in the rain, snuggling with Mommy on the couch, reading books, playing upstairs, lunch with Daddy?
David: You! ( Pointing to Angie)
He sure knows how to get anything he wants from his Mama!

Rainy Day Walk

When it rains we have to walk Bella rather than let her run in the backyard.  She will turn the yard into a mud pit if she had the opportunity to play in the rain.  So this afternoon David and Mommy took Bella on another walk in the rain and David found a few puddles to splash in as well.

And then we had to go in because David said, "Mom, my hands are FR-EEE-Z-ING!"

Listening

While reading to David he made this observation to Angie:
"Daddy reads quiet and fast.  You read loud and slow."
Wondering which is better?

Daddy is Home

Greg surprised us last night and returned home earlier than we expected.  He even brought David a little surprise, his own kid sized coffee mug from Chicago.  David already had coffee, aka water, before bedtime.  We are so happy Greg is home!

Missing Him

Greg has been away for work this week.  David asks often about his Daddy, anytime there is a noise outside he says, " I think that is my Daddy" in a little sneaky voice.  We miss you Greg!

Inferring

When Angie reads to David at nap time and bedtime she has been stopping to ask David questions such as "How is the character feeling?"  "How do you know that?"  "Can you think about what may happen next?"  Most of the time David responds with "I don't know."  This is because he really just wants to hear the story.  Every once in a while he will say how the character is feeling, but will not respond when asked how he know the character is feeling a certain way, such as mad.  Thursday at bedtime he had the best response so far, "Just turn the page and read, you will find out."

5 Years

It does not seem like Bella should be turning 5 today, but she is.  It does not seem like we have had Bella as a member of our family for exactly half of our marriage, but we have.  As hyper and loud as she can be, Bella is a sweet girl.  She is great with David and we are sure Adam will love her too.  Over the last three years she has become much more neglected.  Her first two years of life were full of adventures and weekend trips.  Now she is lucky to get a walk around the block, but Bella we do love you.  Happy 5th birthday!

Texas Tradition

It seems if you live in Texas this time of year searching for fields of Bluebonnets is on the agenda.  This evening we took a trip to the park.  David played and cooperated (for a 2 year old) for a few pictures.  Oh how we love this silly little boy!
