Thanksgiving

We are very thankful for the two loving families that we have that love us so well.   We were able to spend time with both this Thanksgiving.  Wednesday night we shared a Thanksgiving meal with Greg's family.  Trying to get a good family picture sure does give much appreciation to a photographer!  This is the best we got with grandparents and grandchildren.

 

 Adam had a great time playing while we visited.  David on the other hand put himself to sleep and ended up spending the night with Mimi and Grandpa Ed.

 Thursday morning we left for Crosby and were excited that Adam was finally going to meet Angie's Aunts Uncles and Cousins!

 There were quite a few people about 20 which made it a fun day catching up.  David loved having so much attention.  Much of the afternoon was outside playing football.

 The girls had their own much calmer game!

 David again became a little worn out and made himself a snack and put himself down for a rest.  Yes, he drug the tv tray and his snack plate back to his room at Gram's.  He is not spoiled is he?

 Again trying for cousin pictures - this was the best we got...

 Gram worked hard all day to make this a nice Thanksgiving.  Somehow we missed Grandad in every picture.  He too worked hard to make sure our day was very enjoyable.

We have so much to be thankful for and we thank both of our families for time together with delicious food and wonderful memories for our boys.

Christmas Confusion

Since we stayed in all day Sunday Angie began getting some of our Christmas décor up around the house.  No tree or lights just a few decorations.
Sunday night Adam did not sleep well so Angie and Adam were up early.  That woke David up early.
Here is the scene:
Angie and Adam downstairs sitting on the couch.  Upstairs a loud pitter patter of little bitty running feet.  On the stairs a little three year old boy...

David: I did not even hear Santa Claus last night when I was sleeping
Angie: Well, he did not come last night - it is not Christmas just yet.
David: Now Crying - But Why?
Angie: Well, it is not Christmas - we have not even told Santa what you want this year.
David: I don't want to tell Santa - I want to go to the North Pole with you.
Angie: I can't go to the North Pole - I don't have a sleigh.  And Mommy has never been to the North Pole.
David: If it is not Christmas time then why do we have up these things
Angie: It is Christmas time, but not Christmas day.  We don't even have our tree for Santa to lay his gifts under
David: - Now I am really really sad
Angie: I know I am sorry Mommy confused you!  We will have a fun day today -let's get going!

Camo

This is one of Angie's favorite outfits that David wore three years ago.  So, when the weather turned cold this past weekend we let Adam try it on...

Poor Adam - no hat with his name - but he seemed to be happy in David's which just now fits David by the way.  Love these happy little babies!

Movember

David decided to join in on the fun of Movember.  While Angie was putting down Adam for a nap David and Daddy grew moustache's.  Love lazy days at home with these three boys!

Movember (a portmanteau word from moustache and "November") is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers; and associated charities. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com.^[1] The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health."^[2]

Happy Half Birthday

Today our baby boy turns 6 months old. It does not seem as if half of his first year should already have past us by, but it has. Our love for Adam grows deeper and stronger by the day - we are so proud of him and are happy to share his accomplishments with anyone willing to listen. David is proud of his brother too!  He is always very quick to let others know he has a baby brother named Adam.  As Adam turns 6 months he has learned to:

• roll over from stomach to back and not quite back to stomach (almost)
• jump
• stand with support
• sit up on his own for about 30 seconds
• pick up toys that are within his reach
• track anything that moves until it is out of sight

Adam enjoys:

• books
• songs
• playing chase
• chewing on his fingers
• an early bedtime - 6:30 (just this week)
• his big brother
• being held

 The following is a series of photos Angie took of Adam sitting on is own without help. It looks as if he is leaning on the wall, but he really was not - we are so proud of his hard work learning to sit on is own!

Three years Six Months

It does not seem like we have been parents for three and a half years.  Our David had made our lives full these last three years.  Happy half birthday sweet baby boy.

David has caught the "writing bug."  He writes stories often - many times on paper while orally telling his story.  Other times he writes stories in the air - story telling. 
He is also very much a reader.  David enjoys picking up a book, familiar or unfamiliar, and reading the story. 
David continues to enjoy counting and sorting objects. 
Cooking has peeked an interest just this week.  Twice he has "cooked" a meal while Angie was preparing dinner and Adam looked on. The kitchen was a disaster, but everyone was happy during a hard part of the day.
These moments are priceless and do out weigh the harder moments - and lets just say three has been harder than two.

Council Oaks Thanksgiving Feast

Today at David's preschool the families of the students were invited for the Thanksgiving Meal.
Angie and David have both been excited about this time together all month.
Here is David coming out of his class.  The children met the families and we all walked together to the feast.
