A Visit with Santa

The boys were really excited to talk with Santa this year.  It is so much fun to hear the boys think about how this will go... we love how magical this time of year is for our boys.

Each boys made a list specifically for Santa.

 

 The boys also gave money to Salvation Army on the way out of the mall.

Christmas Tree 2018

This was out 16th year in a row to cut down our tree from the Elgin Tree Farm.  We had another fun time deciding on a tree.  Adam really wanted us to split into two teams... Mama and Adam were to be a team and David and Daddy were to be a team.  Each team was to choose a tree and then we would have a family vote on which tree to cut down.  The problem was we needed to stay together so we were not lost in the "forest" of trees.  He was a little disappointed we couldn't make his plan work.

 We finally all agreed on a tree...

 Time to cut it down.  This was harder than David expected and he became rather frustrated.

 So, all of the boys jumped in and helped.

 We put the lights on Saturday night once we were unpacked.

 Sunday morning Adam woke us all up by flipping the lights on before 6:00am as he came into our room.  He announced it was time to put the ornaments on.

We had a fun morning and were still on time for church.

Thanksgiving 2018

Last Sunday we celebrated Thanksgiving with Greg's family at Mimi and Grandpa Ed's house.  Ww missed Jake who is away at school, but the boys enjoyed time with their teenage cousins.

 Monday morning the boys and Angie did something they haven't done in months.  They went to Stroller Strides and loved every minute.  The boys even got to do a craft just like "old times."

Tuesday afternoon the boys went over to help put on their ornaments on Mimi's tree.  Mimi gets each grandchild an ornament each year for her tree.  And each grandchild hangs his/her ornaments.  They also had a sleepover that night.  They love sleep overs at Mimi's.

 Wednesday the boys and Angie made cookies to take to Gram and Grandad's house for Thursday morning.  We used Mimi's recipe for the cookie dough and icing.

 After a long four hour drive Thanksgiving morning we made it to Gram and Granddad's for Thanksgiving.

 Gram got everyone paint your own cookies.

 

 Grandad and David spent a little time playi8ng the guitar.

 And the next two days the cousins were in this swing all day long.

 We had a great Thanksgiving with our families and are so very thankful for our parents. 

 We truly don't know what we would do without Mimi, Ed, Gram, and Grandad.
