Movie Time

We took the boys to see Lion King on Saturday.  Adam took his notepad and pen to record all of the scary parts... that's one way to process the suspense that he doesn't care for in a movie.

 

Texas Kayaking

Since returning from Colorado David has been wanting a kayak of his own.  So, Greg took the boys out one night for an hour on a local lake.  HE wanted to show David that everything is more fun in Colorado... and turns out David agreed.  This lake was a little trickier than the lake in Colorado and it was definitely warmer outside.

A New Smile

Today David had his first phase of braces put on.  He chose purple, red, and grey bands... I questioned his choice of colors, but agreed thinking they would be different by the time school starts.  Well, because of my work schedule they will not actually be changed until 2 weeks after school begins.  So, this is David's first day of third grade color choices.  He has 6 brackets on top and four brackets on bottom.  Hopefully this will be finished by next summer.

 This gut brought his wallet for Chick-Fil-A after the appointment.  We thought David might want a shake... no he chose a chicken sandwich and fries.

A Day in the Life

On Tuesday these boys created vehicles in the garage for hours.  They worked and sweated and were so very proud of their creations.
And then they talked Angie into participating in Cow Day at Chick-Fil-A.
Life is so much more fun with these boys!

Sweeter and Sweeter

Adam is so kind and has a generous and thoughtful heart.  Angie and the boys visit the pool at least 3-4 times a week.  The boys and Angie all love to swim and it is one way they can stay active even in the heat of central Texas.  One afternoon last week Adam set up his "Water Gun Army" swam to the middle of the pool and in the sweetest loudest voice sang "How Great is Our God!"

Friends that are Family

We are so fortunate to have friends that are almost family.  This is the only family that David has spent the night with.  We trade children when one of us needs to get something accomplished.  Both moms teach and both dads own their own businesses.  All of the children generally enjoy each other. 

Home with Daddy

Greg works so hard for us.  He gets up early when we are all just beginning to stir.  HE comes home late often after we have eaten dinner and the boys are headed to bed.
And then he works more hours after he is home.
But on the weekends he makes up so much time with the boys fishing, riding bikes swimming.  And this past weekend we spent Saturday at the water park!

Mama Boot Camp

Every morning that Angie has been home with the boys our mornings begin with school and exercise.
The boys don't complain - I think they may like the routine of how our mornings go  and so does she!

 And sometimes all of that work gets you a lunch at Chick-Fil-A!

Family Time

Angie returned about 3:00am on Saturday morning.  And we got up and started on our family Saturday all back together.
We decided to take a trip to the Austin Library.

 After the library we stopped for cookies and ice cream!

 WE came home and Angie took a nap.  Greg and the boys grilled outside.

 And after dinner we had a blind taste test of chocolate chip cookies that Angie brought back from NYC.

A Summer First

This summer David went to camp because Angie was going to be gone for a week for work.  Adam was on the waitlist and never got a spot.  It was a first.  Angie has never been away from the boys for this length of time.  David had never been to camp.  And Adam was put into cars driven by friends moms.  It was a week of faith and trust that everything would be ok.
Thank you to Mimi and Ed for helping with both boys, especially Adam for the long days.
Adam had a Ready Rockets playdate with friends one day.  Mimi also took him to a kindergarten playdate in the neighborhood to meet new kinder friends ( no pictures just memories.)

And Angie was back in her favorite place - other than home.

 Angie took a group of teachers for their first time to New York...

  Angie found a colleague that now works in North Carolina, but Angie worked with for about 5 years.  This was a great reunion!

And because there were teachers that had never seen the city there was a lot of that too this trip.
