Running with Mama

 It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that Angie was pushing these two in the stroller as she ran.  Now they run right alongside her - this night was a 2 mile run.  David ran the entire 2 miles without stopping.  Adam chose to take the two miles on his scooter.  It was so much fun having these two as running partners!

 Adam and his best friend Oliver ranked up on the same night at KidStrong!  It was a night to remember for these two.

Another Ice Day

Wednesday morning was cold!  Adam dressed for school with three layers, including 2 hats.

At school they studied weather - and tested their wind socks... Adam was prepared for the weather...

 

Thursday was supposed to be a late start.  Wednesday as school was ending our district called a late start for Thursday morning because of ice predicated Thursday morning.  Adam loved the idea of starting school late - this has never happened to him before.

He decided he should probably flush his ice cubes and maybe school would be cancelled all together.

About 7:00am Thursday morning we received a call that school was cancelled.  And we had an unexpected ice day. Snuggling in bed with these boys - priceless.

Adam's teacher sent this message to her class Thursday morning.

We celebrated an ice day, when the ice melted at 5:30, for Spirit night with friends.

It was a great unexpected magical day!

Friday morning, as Adam was walking down the stairs, Angie heard, "Mama, is school cancelled yet?' Adam was not as lucky Friday morning - maybe he should have flushed more ice cubes.

Safety Patrol

In January David began his job on Safety Patrol.  He enjoys helping children in and out of their cars before and after school each day!  He is a leader at school.  Some days he goes straight from Safety Patrol to Student Council.

 

2-22-2022

Adam was so excited about Tuesday, 2-22-2022.  His school celebrated with ties, Tutus and Tennis Shoes or dress like twins.  Adam and his best friend Oliver dressed like twins down to masks and socks.  They were so happy.

Valentine’s Day!

Adam has a favorite tradition on Valentine's Day - it is red heart shaped pancakes.

He was happy to wake up to find Angie in the kitchen making his favorite breakfast!

Then it was time for Valentine Treats - Lego, stickers, and a new stuffie.

The boys wanted to make their own Valentine boxes this year.  They both had an idea and vision for thier boxes.  They worked hard, not wanting much help or feedback.  They turned out really well!

Adam's class also made puzzles.  Adam did well, Angie had a hard time putting it together.

After school Angie had a favorite treat at home waiting for the boys.

And Adam shoed us his Award... most creative box!

Ice Days

About 10:00am Wednesday morning our school district made a call to close on Thursday and Friday for threat of ice.  And the snow and ice did come... thanks to Adam's class.

She told the class to take three ice cubes, no more and no less and flush them down the toilet.  Siblings and parents too.  Adam was very serious about this.  As soon as he saw Angie after school he told her the exact directions.  Parents had also received a teacher email about the homework assignment.  Adam's teacher did not tell her class school was cancelled for 2 days... she just gave them this homework.

As we got in the car after school Adam also told David and one of David's friends that we were taking home about the assignment.  They kind of hinted it didn't matter because school was cancelled.  Adam didn't really give a nod toward their information and just told each one they better do it.

We had a middle school meeting for David that night, it was cold and rainy out.  When we got home Adam was ready to do his homework.  Angie asked him to wait just a bit because Greg was in a hurry to get on the road, he was heading to San Antonio and trying to beat the ice.

Then it was finally time for homework.

We sent Adam's picture to his teacher and she posted it to her class Instagram account to remind everyone...

 

He was so very excited about this!

Then Angie caught David about 30 minute later doing it... taking no chances of something going awry and no ice coming.

David fell asleep in our bed...

And we woke up to this...

Adam's teacher posted this on the Instagram account Thursday morning!

So excited David went out in pajamas and started throwing snowballs.

Bundled up ready to play!

We came in so Angie could make a warm breakfast after being out for about an hour.

Then we headed out to see the neighborhood...

They found a frozen puddle...

And sliding down the sidewalks was a hit...

They slid down hills...

And pulled off icicles

We headed to the park to play...

David found a leaf encapsulated in ice...

And he did the best meteorologist report into these frozen berries...

Then it was time to slide back home for lunch...

But first a little more snow to play in...

The clothes warmed up... Angie made lunch...

And the boys played...

Play-Dog lasted over and hour.  Then lunch...

Once everyone thing and everyone were dry we headed back outside.

The boys started with basketball in the snow...

But quickly realized the net was frozen and the balls wouldn't go through 2 in...

Now three.  They stayed there until Friday afternoon when the ice melted.

Back to the backyard so Holly could play too...

Then we decided to just walk Holly... this walk was about finding the largest piece of ice...

Adam found a frozen "pond."

Back home we blew bubbles to see if they would freeze.  We tried last winter and thought maybe our homemade bubble mixture was just not good, but these from the store didn't freeze either...

Their favorite place - the trampoline.

Then while Angie made dinner the boys worked on Valentine cards for their classmates.

Friday morning was cold and the weather gave us another day to repeat fun in the snow.  We spent much of the day throwing snowballs in the Karst preserve, walking through the neighborhood and playing in the backyard.

David's cup of snow is still frozen overnight...

When they just have each other and no screens they play just like they did when they were little!

An afternoon outside was perfect!
