Summer Brain Work

Angie tried each day while Adam was napping to do something with David to work on name, numbers, phone numbers, letters, etc... Here is David practicing letters in shaving crème - one of his new favorite ways to write.

Cheese-It, not the healthiest of snacks, but the scrabble pieces that they made this summer David loved.  Each day he would take a handful out, identify the letters and sounds if he knew them, and then gobble his snack.

 He loved to find the letters to spell...

 And... he leaves out the V because apparently it is too hard to make.

 This little guy loved to participate too when he woke up earlier than expected - David enjoyed telling him the names of the letters.

 One day Angie caught David forming letters out of wipes.  A big waste of wipes were found all over the floor, but he was being productive while she put Adam down for a nap.

 

 Hard work deserves a sweet summer treat!

We love that this summer David has taken a big interest in writing and reading.  He even tells us after he prays that it is a letter to God.

 

Uncle Dwayne and Aunt Cindy

In mid July we took a quick trip to Jacksonville Texas to visit Greg's extended family.  While we were their Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dwayne took us to Tyler to visit a wildlife museum.  David has become very interested in weapons and hunting.  He had a great time!
Adam stayed behind with Grandpa Ed to nap while the rest of us traveled to Tyler!

 This little guy could not get enough - he loved this trip!

Walking

Adam took 6 steps all on his own July 3rd.  WE thought he was well on his way to walking.  But it seems he still has no interest in walking.  Here is video of him in April and May "walking."  He still loves this typed of practice - but that is about it.

 

Shaving

David now loves to "shave" and then put on after shave like Daddy.  He always wants his Mama to smell that he is like Daddy!

First Fish

July 4th weekend Greg took David fishing again.  While this is something they have done together many times this trip David caught his first fish.  They are both excited about this milestone!

 

 

Little Readers

David and Adam both really like listening to stories now.  It is fun to read to them together and watch them read to each other.  Many times during the day they will pick up books and "read."  It is fun that they also enjoy their chairs so much!

14 Months

Today our sweet littlest little turns 14 months old.  This summer has been so fun with him to be able to watch him learn and use new things everyday.  Angie is sad as she started back to work yesterday to miss the everyday learning of Adam. 
Just yesterday he signed airplane for the first time when he heard one.  The day before he signed fish for the first time when he saw a fish tank in the doctors office.  He has also started signing bath, please, and the day after he turned 13 months began signing more.
To his speaking vocabulary he has added ball, plane, we think book, Dadee instead of Dada, and stuck.
To his animal sounds that he already knew of lion, monkey, and dog he has added duck and cow.
His love of being outside continues to grow.  He enjoys the bath tub, but not the swimming pool.  He enjoys dancing and loud music, and his brother is still his favorite. 
He climbs up and down everything.  He is now throwing away his trash and cleaning up his messes - he loves to clean with rags.
He is friendly like his brother - telling complete strangers hi and bye complete with big smiles and waves.  He does however protest with loud screams when something does not go his way- such as having to come in from outside or not being aloud to crawl during David's karate class.
He is typically happy most of the time like David was at this age.  He continues to be awake  several times during the night.  He gives hugs and kisses and pats us sweetly on the back when we hold him.
Adam brings us joy, happiness, and we are incredibly thankful for this blessing of Adam!

This crawling down the stairs backwards began two weeks ago... now if he was just interested in walking.

Pie

Grandpa Ed gave Adam his first taste of chocolate cream pie - at first he wanted nothing to do with it.  Then Adam decided if he could eat it with his fingers it was delicious!

Sleepy Boys



Summer means busy schedules and sleepy boys.  It is usually rare that these two sleep in the car - but this summer they have been tired as we move from one activity to the next.  They have their Mama's heart for sure!

Pool Time

Adam prefers to play out of the water at the pool rather than in the water... makes it hard for Angie to take the boys by herself - but they do go!  Summer Time Fun - she wouldn't miss this with the boys for anything.
