Angie never thought 9 years ago when talking to district leaders she would ever have the opportunity to be doing the work she is currently working on in her school district. In the last nine years she has made big changes to Literacy Practices and has currently led a change at one school in literacy reform. So much so that the school is now a project school with Teachers College Reading and Writing project. And with that comes some of the best instruction and deep thinking by teachers and children. This past week Lucy herself came to our school district and this team of teachers, the leaders on the campus, were able to meet her for the first time. To see teachers this excited has been incredibly motivating to continue fighting for all children to have opportunity to read and write with strategic feedback every single day. This was a good day!
One afternoon Angie went to pick up the boys and found these two decked out in paper plate and paper bowls. Their creativity is magical! Grandpa Ed was on duty... Mimi probably doesn't know how many of her bowls and plates were used in crafting.
New boots for David and New Cleats for Adam... after school sports have begun!
A very sweet friend of Angie's made the boys these little belts and filled them with tiny notebooks, hand lenses, crayons, and pencils, so that when out exploring and investigating they have all of their tools.

David best friend moved to Chicago this summer. And they were able to FaceTime for the first time one Saturday afternoon. They loved it!
The weather turned cool on a Saturday evening so we headed out to play and have a burger for dinner.
Last Monday David had to have some heavy dental work done so that he can eventually get his braces and expander in April... he has too many teeth in that sweet little mouth. Mimi told us Daddy had all of this same work done. But we needed a low key afternoon activity so the boys painted wooden pumpkins to decorate our house.
