Thanksgiving 2021

Our Thanksgiving was full of family, food and thankfulness.
Wednesday night we had Thanksgiving with Greg's family.
We were very thankful to have all of the cousins together.  Mimi cooked and made sure she had everyone's favorites!

Mimi had fun festive glasses for everyone!

Adam might watch Krista and Kayla pose for pictures...
Adam is so cute here...

For someone that loves to dress up he wasn't thrilled about these props!
Even Holly got to come to Thanksgiving.
Mini Chocolate pie by Mimi.
Thursday mornng we watched part of the Thanksgiving parade at our house and then we went to Mimi and Ed's and watched some.  The boys were interested in it this year after both boys read Balloons over Broadway this year.

Then we headed to Houston for more Thanksgiving fun with Angie's family.
Gram and Grandad hosted 17 family members.  All but one of the siblings was there.
Cousins!

Time for Football...

Grandad and Uncle Bob - so similar in personality and looks.  Twice Angie went up to her Uncle thinking it was her dad... so good to see him and Aunt Burma.
Adam and Lila made a store and had so many products to buy.
We all took turns shopping... many times.
Grandad showed the Grandkids his guitars after they asked.  The electric guitar Santa brought Grandad when he was 8.  The acoustic guitar was Gradad's dads guitar.  It was really valuable until Angie knocked a hole in it when she was in 7th grade.
Grandad can still play!  The kids love to hear him play.

There were games of checkers, Dogopoly, and hide and seek...
Teh Dark Side showed up, but didn't stay long thank goodness...

When we got back home Saturday Adam decorated with window clings from Gram...

And we had a Friendsgiving with family friends of the House's.
So much to be thankful for!

Christmas Tree Decorating

We had our house ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year.  We had time and Angie just wanted a little extra joy this year.
David has been growing this Christmas tree from Gram and Grandad this year.  He was excited to decorate it with lights.  He waters and trims it to keep it looking as much like a Christmas tree as possible.
Three years ago we gave up our tradition of a real tree when we discovered it made Greg very sick.  So, this is little, we can keep it and it thrives on the back porch instead of our house.

Then it was time for our family tree.
Angie bought these bubble lights in July on clearance.  These were on her tree every year as a kid and it brings back so many great Christmas memories of her childhood.
Then the ornaments came out... and the boys brought their droids down to decorate... here Adam is driving his with the elf hat on.

Only one ornament broke and it was Angie that dropped it.
So proud!

We had to buy a new star because our star didn't turn on this year.

A Trip to see Santa

Angie made a reservation with Santa on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  This is such a great Santa, and except for Covid Christmas last year, the boys have seen him the last 5 years.  This year he listened and talked and they had a really great conversation about behavior, reindeer, the north pole and of course their Christmas Lists.  Adam asked for a Nintendo Switch.  David asked for a bike and an Oculus.  We hope Santa can pull through.
