Summer with Mama

Angie returns to work tomorrow.  And this summer of 8 years old and 5 years old went way too fast.  It was a slow paced summer.  Just enjoying being home with each other was what we did.  And oh will she miss these faces tomorrow!
On the Fourth of July Mimi had David recreate his first Fourth of July Picture.  How has it been 8 years?!

 We have spent at least one day at the library each week this summer.  So much fun to get new books.

 Stroller Strides is how we spend our mornings before it is too hot outside.

 

 We get up by 7:00 and do a run through the neighborhood before we do our school work.  Exercise, school time, Stroller Strides time... and then we have the rest of the day to just enjoy each other.

 WE spend it outside exploring

 and inside playing with friends.

These are the best summer days - the ones where are memories are made with each other at home.

David's First Sleepover

David had his very sleepover at a friends house on Saturday night.  This friend actually has two houses.  They have a house close to us on 2 acres with a pond, deer, ducks, etc...  They also have a ranch about 30 minutes from us with 20 acres.  David absolutely loves their houses because of all of the outdoor fun to be had.  So, he decided he finally wanted to stay the night out at the ranch.  And he hasn't stopped talking about all of the fun, the animals, the ponds, and the fact that they offered to let him have a goat to take care of.  This was the best first sleepover - it will be hard to top this one.

 

And this guy asked for a trip to Chick-Fil-A, but only through the drive through.
So, of course, Mama and Daddy could handle that.

Build A Bear

David was treated to Build A Bear when he was three on Father's Day.  He had received a gift card for his third birthday.  Adam was 4 weeks old at the time.
Adam was treated to Build A Bear this past August, by Mimi, for the first time at 4 years old.
These boys ask often to go back.
So, for their birthday, Luke and Lila gifted them gift cards.  And today was the day to visit and oh my were they excited!
Adam took his Build A Bear from his first trip with us.  He kept saying, "Its going to look familiar to him."
Adam went with the idea that he was going to get a dinosaur.  And he found the dinosaur right away.  But upon looking at EVERYTHING he ended up with a puppy.  David walked in and right away found a very soft puppy.
So, both boys got different puppies today.
