Cub Scout Camp Out

Now that Adam is a Lion Scout and David is a Bear Scout camping as a family has come.  Angie was thinking that it might just be a boys weekend.  But Adam declared  again and again, " I am not sleeping in the wilderness without mommy."  And so it was decided that we would go on our first official camping trip as a family of 4. 

There was a positive - this has been the closest Cub Scout camping trip to our house out of all the camping David and Greg have done in the past three years.

So, two weekends ago we headed to Georgetown to a park Angie and Greg have been visiting for the last 19 years. 

The boys got the tent up and their beds laid out in record time...

 

David and Greg had his Bear Scout meeting so Adam and Angie went on a hike.  Adam held onto one walkie talkie while Greg held the other.  And believe it or not - they worked during our entire hike.

 

 Then we took a family hike...

 After the hike we played games with friends...

 Had dinner with Adam's Lion Scouts...

 And roasted marshmallows around the camp fire.

 At our campsite we found a spider making a web in record time... we couldn't believe how fast this happened.

 

It was a fun trip - but Angie woke up and started packing up camp the next morning bright and early.  We didn't have a campfire breakfast like Greg had planned.  Instead we stopped at the Monument Café in Georgetown for breakfast! 

Riverfest 2019

Saturday night we attended our church fall festival.  Both boys had a great time.  There was Chick-Fil-A, Kona Ice, plenty of games, hayride and cake walk.  These boys are so much fun and we enjoy these special little events every single time.

Adam's very first stop was Kona Ice...

 David's was the cake walk... he was so happy that he won this cake.  I wish we could have gotten his reaction on video!

 And then Adam won cookies!!!

 Adam saw his friend Patrick, who is in 8th grade, and they were both dinosaurs.  He was happy about that!

 After a dinner of Chick-Fil-A we played and played and played.

 

 David ran across the fellowship hall to get a picture with Ms. Susan.

 David tried Cotton Candy - and it is confirmed he still doesn't like it.  Adam didn't even try it.

 Time for a hayride...

 Waiting for some popcorn...

 And then it was time to head home to bed...
