Braces Gone

 David had his last round of braces taken off yesterday. This started all the way back in second grade with his expander. Braces put on for third grade. Braces taken off in fourth grade. Braces put back on in seventh grade and the final round taken off on eighth grade. And he has the best smile!

Here is David in October 2020 when he got his braces off celebrating on the red carpet.

And back in the car after celebrating no more braces.

We grabbed him lunch before heading back to school, chocolate milkshake was on the menu for this kid.

And after school he gave Angie what she wanted - a good picture of that new smile.

It truly can make her happy just to see his smile.

Cowboys Game

 For Ed’s 80th birthday Greg got him tickets to a Cowboys game. They went yesterday along with Adam and David. I think they all had a good time!

Adam sent updates from his watch to Angie back at home.

After the game they went to a restaurant called Uncle Julio’s. The boys and Greg like the chocolate and fruit piñata.

Angie watched from home… Adam FaceTimed her from the game and he saw the game in her tv while he was at the game… and thought that was so funny!

So glad they have this memory!

Pop Up Sunday

 Adam had pop up Sunday at church. He popped up to fifth grade, his last year in children’s ministry.

David’s Lure Shop

This summer David spent many mornings and evenings fishing.  He went with friends, with Greg, or even on his own.  Kayla and her boyfriend took him one night... over all he could not get enough fishing.  And with that came the need for lures.  He took it upon himself to figure out how to make lures and was so busy the last part of July and into August making his own lures.  And we must say, he did really well.

David we are so proud of the way you take on challenges and create ways to solve your problems.

Here he started documenting the process, but then decided that was too much work to do a step by step, but here are his first few steps...

Brotherly Love

Sometimes these boys really can't get enough of each other.  They giggle and smile and run through the house just being silly... and it brings so much joy.

And other times they only want to be a brother to Holly...

Or just have some time alone. Adam loves a cozy nook and a good book.

David loves a good snack.

 We wish they would stop growing up!

First Day of Eighth Grade and First Day of Fifth Grade

Mimi made the boys cookies for their lunches the afternoon before school started and came over to wish them a good day!

First Adam went to school… Angie walked him in…

Adam found his friends…

And left Angie behind.

He put his backpack in his classroom, took off to go to the school newsroom, and Angie chased him down the hall, he didn’t take a picture or say goodbye. She made him go back to his teacher for a picture. Then he went to the KTEX newsroom because he was the first day of school anchor.

Then it was David's turn to go to school...

Off he goes - 

He walked in with our neighbor Jacob.

Then Angie received a couple of news room pictures of Adam.

They both had a good first day, but Angie missed them terribly.  It was a good thing she had to be in classrooms all day because it made the time go faster.
