A Mile Race for David and A New Sleepover Duffle Bag for Adam

David entered a local mile race with a few of his friends.  He ran well. He ran his mile in 5:27. He came in 6th in his age division.

Adam had a sleepover with Mimi because he really wanted to use his new sleepover duffle bag.  He didn't want to use his suitcase for sleepovers, so he bought himself a duffle bag

 

National Junior Honor Society

David worked so hard in 6th and 7th grade.  He was asked to be part of National Junior Honor Society.  He had to have a cumulative GPA of 95, his was a 99.  Then he had to write an essay on how he is a good leader.  He did not want to do this, but Angie told him he didn't have a choice.

He already got all of his service hours within the first month of summer.

This was the night he was inducted.

STAAR Breakfast and a Petting Zoo

Adam's teachers brought a petting zoo to school the day before STAAR for some relaxing and joy before a long day of testing

This morning Angie got up and got the boys their favorite breakfast before a long day of testing.

We went to Angie's favorite restaurant tonight.  We were sat in the seat we had the first time we ever came.  So, the boys tried to recreate...

Backyard Campout

The boys wanted a backyard campout but wanted to sleep in their own tents. Greg's is in the back closest to the fence.  Adam's is the red tent in the middle.  David's is the one closest to the camera.

Greg came in about 1:00am to hi bed.

Adam came in about 3:00am to his bed.

David camped out all night.

Angie never sleeps well when the boys are outside like this... it's how she knows when everyone came in...

 

Pool Day and Make Your Own Pizza Night

We usually have our first swim day in April... and this year Adam was the only one that could stay in very long.  That water was cold!

After the pool we came home for make your own pizza night. 

Slow Saturday's are our favorite!

A Boy, A Book, and A Dog

Adam loves Holly and talks so sweetly to hear before leaving for school... here he is wearing his new swim team shirt to school.

Adam almost always has a book in his hands... and often is unaware of the world around him.

Holly is always aware and wants as much attention as possible...

And when these things collide, it is glorious.

 

Adam on KTEX

Adam was part of his live school news crew for 2 weeks in April.  He was an anchorman, which he loved.  He asked Angie if he could put this experience on his resume for experience acting.  He wants to be an actor, but not on live stage, just film.

He was also the news director for a week.  He didn't love that, he said it is only fun if you are the one on camera.

 

Pajama Day for STAAR

STARR this year was broken across multiple weeks. So the first week, day 1 Adam was encouraged to wear PJ's and bring a snack. He took donuts to school for his class. And he chose new Pokémon pajamas.

 

Eclipse

Today was the full eclipse.  Adam specifically dressed like the moon and sun for this day.

Both boys had events at school for the eclipse, but asked Angie to pick them up early and watch from home.  

Mimi, Ed, Jake, and even Daddy came home for the event.

It started off cloudy, but the skies cleared and we were able to see the moon totally eclipse the sun.  We were in complete darkness for about 2 minutes and it was so eerie, the wind stopped, everything went dark, the birds stopped chirping.

Adam had painted rock at school along with having a planetarium come before Angie picked him up.

 It was nice that our family was able to be together for this event.
