24 Month Stats

Adam had his well check this morning.  Thankful for a healthy happy 2 year old boy.
This lip - We don't ever want to forget Adam's "lip."  He was literally born making this face and he sure can break your heart when he is sad and pouts... sometimes though we catch him doing it when he is thinking like this.
He is so proud that he is 2 - he even told his doctor this morning...  Along with telling him many other things.  We were not given shy boys - that is for sure!

So now for his stats.

Twenty Four Months
Height: 33.5 inches - 19th percentile
Weight: 23 pounds 6 ounces -12th percentile
Head Circumference- 47.5 cm - 28th percentile

Eighteen Months
Height: 31.75 inches - 24th percentile
Weight: 21 pounds 2 ounces -11th percentile
Head Circumference- 47 cm - 37th percentile

David at this age:
Height: 33 inches - 10th percentile
Weight: 21 pounds 8 ounces - below the 5th percentile
Head Circumference - Did not measure David at 24 months

Birthday Fun

Friday Greg was home for David's actual birthday.  So he treated the boys to games at Chuck E. Cheese and a trip to the bakery.  They picked up this and sent Angie this video at work!

That evening when Angie arrived home from work David opened his birthday presents and had one more birthday treat!

Adam wanted to celebrate his birthday too so we obliged

 

These sweet boys have had lots of birthday sugar and fun for an entire week.  Last night we took Adam to his favorite hamburger restaurant to celebrate his big day.  And today - well - back to reality.
Happy Birthday to our big 5 year old and 2 year old!

Officially 2

Adam is officially a 2 year old today.  It truly seems like we were just meeting him for the first time  and just like that he is two.  Life is so much faster with two children.  But oh how we love him!
Adam is still fond of books, cars, trucks, and trains.  He sings, dances, and runs to entertain himself.  He does all things David does.  He is a lover of babies, dogs, and swimming.  He is gentle and sweet, but when things don't go just as he wants we do see a temper.  He talks up a storm and everyday we learn more about him by what he chooses to tell us.  Outside is where he always loves to be.  He is a gift.  And we are thankful that we are here to parent him, love him, and enjoy him.  He is joy. He is happiness.  He is ours and we are the lucky ones!

2 - Years

Officially 5

Today David is officially 5.  He is so excited to be 5 and has been looking forward to being grown-up. 

It is so hard to believe that 5 years ago we did not know David at all.  These past 5 years of being parents has been a gift.  We can't believe that 5 years has flashed by so quickly, but we are thankful.  We are thankful to have David, to be here to celebrate him, to parent him, to wake up with him and put him to bed every night.  We did not know how deeply we could love until he was in our arms and we really could not believe he was ours. 

He is loving, funny, clever.  He enjoys sports and puzzles. He thinks he is a ninja and aspires to be an Army Guy.  He is a deep thinker, a writer, a lover of babies, and all things fast.  David is competitive, but has the ability to be kind and show compassion. He can be strong willed, opinionated, and impulsive.  He can also be gentle, sweet, and generous.  He is the best of us both wrapped into a tiny little boy that we love so very much.  Happy 5th birthday to the little boy that made us parents 5 years ago - how lucky we are to know David Scott.

The Graduate

And just like that he is graduating from preschool.  It truly does seem like David was just 2 and Angie was registering him for his first year of preschool to begin when he turned 3.  And now, tomorrow,our graduate will be 5.
We are so proud of this boy and all he has accomplished the last two years.  We are also thankful we found Council Oak Preschool.  David thrives here and he will attending the kinder bridge class at Council Oak next year. 
Tuesday David brought home his sign for our yard!  He was so proud.  He wanted it right next to the curb.  Angie had to do some serious convincing that people could read it even if it was in our flowerbed.

 All of the graduates pictures were on display as we entered the sanctuary.  We love that it has the dismissal song around the border of the frame... Go now in peace may the love of God surround you everywhere you go.  Each class sings this at the end of the day.

Boys Birthday Bash

We celebrated Adam's 2 years and David's 5 years this past weekend.  They will officially be 2 and 5 at the end of the week.  We had a great time with family and friends.  And the weather held out for us.  Here are the invites we sent to their friends....
