A Day Trip

We didn't take a summer vacation this year so on this last official weekend of summer we took the boys to San Antonio for the day.
We started with breakfast, but all decided these donuts were not as good as Round Rock donuts... Adam didn't even eat his.

Next stop was the Japanese Tea Garden.  David was really looking forward to this, but both boys ended up really enjoying this stop.  David has really become a gardener since building his own pond.

 Mimi came with us too.

This is the sweetest little face... Daddy asked him to climb in this.
After that we headed to the Natural Bridge Caverns Safari Park.  The boys really liked this too, but we didn't get there quite as early as we had planned and many of the animals had been fed too much or were too hot to come up to the car.

This guy was licking our window...

David thinks this one was sitting on an egg and warning us to just keep driving...
After that we went to the Buckhorn Museum.  This was a favorite of Greg's as a kid.

Mimi paid for the boys to get in a little shooting practice...

After the museum we walked down to the Alamo.  At this point everyone was hot and tired so this was as close as we got to it... but Angie wanted David to at least see what he will be learning more about this year.

  2. The garden, ponds and foliage looked much more luscious, bigger and prettier since our visit in 1982! Do you remember? Of course, the safari park (animals) is always a hit. What a nice sharing family day in the fun city of San Antonio.
