Hallelujah Hoedown

Last night we attended our church's fall festival, Hallelujah Hoedown. This is an event that Angie has volunteered at for the last 8 years, however this year we attended as parents.
When dating we looked for a church home together and 11 years ago we found Riverbend. One thing that drew us to this church was the children's department. Knowing we wanted to raise a family with a strong faith this was an important quality in a church. We did not know at the time that it would be 9 years down the road before we had a child attending the programs, but it has been well worth the wait.
At the end of the summer our church opened a brand new children's building, we have amazing children's ministers, and a big ministry of our church is children. Last night was a night of fun, fellowship, and family! As parents the Hallelujah Hoedown was incredible and we are thankful for the staff and volunteers that work endlessly planning, setting up, and working, to give our little family a night to remember!
Our little lion on his way to the petting zoo. We started here to warm up;David loves animals just like his Daddy! Our first stop was really to say hi to Dr. Haney, our senior pastor, David buried his head... he was not ready to ROAR like a Loin as we have been practicing.

Then David found a castle... hiding from Mommy and Daddy

Surprise

Daddy enjoys bringing treats home to David every now and then. Sometimes even his patients send a little treat home to David. Last week Daddy brought home some cake balls, one for David and one for Mommy. Bella even got a bite. Here is David enjoying his first cake ball... not really understanding how to eat it. This is after he fed himself dinner.

Pure Joy

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

David brings us more joy than we could have imagined. We love to play at home and watch as he develops interests outside of what we have encouraged. We also love to take him into the world to discover fun away from home. Angie looks forward to the time she has with David each week. It is always a good day with David. Greg enjoys his Saturday mornings with David. Usually Daddy and David let Mommy sleep in and spend some quality boy time together.
There is no way to describe the pure joy we have when we look at our "perfect gift!"

A Day at the Patch

We traveled to Marble Falls this morning to visit the Pumpkin Patch at Sweet Berry Farm. We took David last year and we think he enjoyed it, but he was only 4 months old. We are not sure he remembers much of the trip.
Daddy and David last October...

This year however we think he made some memories!

Priceless Words

We love hearing the sounds that our little boy shares with us and each day he shares more words. Here are some of our favorites to hear from his growing vocabulary!

Baby Sitters

We are very blessed to have parents that love our little boy almost as much as we do.
Greg's parents offered a year ago to watch David on the three days a week that Angie works. They have also watched him on a couple of nights that we needed to be away.
Here is David with the World's Greatest Mimi and David always has fun with Grandpa Ed on duty!

Angie's parents have watched David on times that Greg's parents had travel plans and on nights that we needed to be away; driving up from Crosby to help us out.
Here is David with the World's Greatest Grandad and World's Greatest Gram!

We don't love to leave out little boy, but it so much easier to leave him with the support and love of our parents. We know David is safe, well cared for, and very LOVED!
We don't take this blessing for granted knowing that we are very lucky to have such self-less parents! Thank you Mimi, Grandpa Ed, Gram, and Grandad!
