delicious icing... that was all David wanted

fun in the tent, funny David really wanted to play with Mommy this day

Candy Monster

Can you understand the words of this 1 year old?

And then Daddy came home and this...

Grandpa Ed and Aunt Amy introducded David to M&M's around Halloween; he has fallen for the tiny bits of chocolate covered in a hard candy shell. We bought a bag just for decoration and David saw the bowl sitting on our breakfast table the first day. We are now rethinking this decoration and are considering hiding the bowl until company comes... which is rare these days.

Thank You Aunt Brenda

Aunt Brenda made David a new Christmas outfit. It is reversible and gives us two options for the season! We love it; David points to it and says, SANTA!, when he sees it in his closet. Thank you Aunt Brenda for sharing your time and your talent with us - we love this!

Santa has Come to Town

This morning after our workout we skipped the Farmer's Market and headed to see Santa at the mall. We were unaware that it was breakfast with Santa morning... we thought we would be avoiding the crowd.
Anyway, David walked up to Santa and sat in his lap all on his own, he has been saying "Santa" this week. He looked at Santa while Santa was talking to him; he was again so fascinated with Santa, just as last year, he did not look toward the camera. After a while of sitting in Santa's lap he stared at the floor, waiting for something else to happen... nothing... so he slid out of Santa's lap and gave Daddy a hug. Off they went to ride the carousel while Mommy waited in another line for the picture.

Mama Tried

Our tree has been standing in our living room since Sunday in only a skirt. Tonight was our family night for decorating. Angie anticipated that David would not be thrilled with hanging ornaments, but thought the lights would catch his attention.
After all last year he loved them

This year when he spots lights he says "lights lights."
There was hope on Angie's part that this would begin a fun family time that David would always look forward too... here is how the evening really went...
Daddy and David inspecting the lights

after about 30 seconds David moved on to playing with his nativity

he then requested to water the tree after about 2 minutes with the nativity

upon spilling water he ran into the family room where we had on the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lighting special... this was providing our Christmas tree decorating music. David decided dancing was better than decorating

at commercial break David ran back into the living room to "clean up" the spilled water
(notice how far the lights made it up the tree)

when another helper joined us

Mama declared everyone to bed and she finished the tree

Maybe next year, but probably never will there be interest in decorating... like father like son.

18 month Stats

David turned 18 months a week ago today. We had his well check this morning. We are still working toward gaining weight. However, other than that David is doing well. His vocabulary is larger than the average 18 month old child and he seems more social with strangers than his peers. We continue to love every minute we get to spend with our growing and happy baby boy!
