These Three

Thank goodness our church began a tradition of Mother's Day Pictures.  The last three years this is Angie's only picture with her boys for Mother's Day!
These three make for a very happy Mama!
2013 - 2 weeks away from David turning 3 and Adam being born
2014 - 2 weeks away from David turning 4 and Adam turning 1
2015 - 2 weeks away from David turning 5 and Adam turning 2
The very funny thing about these pictures is that we are somewhat color coordinated in each one and yet there was absolutely no planning for a "family photo."

Mother's Day

This is my fifth Mother's Day - my second as a mother of two.  And there has not ever been a day where I was not grateful for these two boys that were placed in my care.  I am thankful for the opportunity to be a mother.  I am thankful I was able to grow these boys for a healthy 10 months.  I am thankful for the difficulty we faced in growing our family because it only makes me appreciate what we have so much more.  And I think daily of the babies we have in Heaven.

I am also so thankful for having grown up in a loving home with a Mom that loved us fiercely.  She was our advocate always, would do anything we needed, and made many sacrifices that I am now aware of as a mom.  We never went without, had 3 healthy meals every single day, a clean and loving environment.  She read to us. She played with us. She crafted with us.  She volunteered for us.  She was the example of how to mother - and I hope my boys have a perfect childhood just as I did.

And my Mother-In-Law provided the same loving care for her son, my husband,  And because of that my boys have a loving father.  A father that wants to be home as much as he can.  Because he had a loving and nurturing home he provides that too.

And now these two moms that took care of us are still caring for us by caring for our boys.

This Mother's Day I am thankful.  Thankful for my boys, my husband, my mother and mother-in-law.  I am honored to have the opportunity to parent these two healthy, happy, bright, beautiful brothers.  They are my world and there is truly nothing better than being a mom!

And to my dad and father-in-law I am thankful for you too - your day is coming - so much to say about you two on Father's Day!

That magic moment when you hold your newborn son and realize he is yours and you have earned the title of Mom...
The moment you hear a healthy newborn cry as your baby is being delivered...
And realize your family grew by 1 and now there are 4....

And incredibly thankful for new life and the role of mom.

How Did This Happen?

In two weeks from today this little boy will be 5 and graduating from preschool.  And those two events are causing my heart to break.  How did the time go by so quickly?  Five years of our time with David is already gone.
This little boy is growing so quickly and our hearts are much more full then they were 5 years ago, and they are swollen with pride, and they are aching for the time to just slow down.  Because this little boy is really not so little anymore.  And this little  boy, the first born to us, blesses us daily with joy and laughter and just makes us want more time with him.

Daddy and Son Days

One day a week Greg is off to be home with the boys.  He always has a fun adventure planned for the three of them.  David loves his Friday's home with Daddy and Adam asks every morning if Daddy s home.  What a special Daddy to be making these memories with his sons.
There is almost always time at the park...

And Kite flying has become an instant favorite for these two...

 There is wildlife to see...
 Hikes to be taken...

 Treats to eat...
 Animals to Feed...

And every once in a while they run a necessary errand like haircuts....

These boys have a bond with their Daddy like no other - they LOVE Greg!

Hide and Seek

Adam is now playing Hide and Seek just as David did at this age...
And well this reminds us of this but a little different volume and speed....

Mother's Day Tea

This morning Angie was treated to a Mother's Day Tea at David's school.  This is one of the highlights of the year.  David was so proud of his work and what a fun time we had.  Mimi joined Angie and David again this year.    These years are passing oh so quickly.

What a difference a year makes - three year old Mother's Day Tea...
Four Year Old Mother's Day Tea...
 Angie's Gifts...
Every mom was gifted a beautiful hat for the tea... David chose pink for Angie's

 David hand painted a vase...

And made a special card - with a tea bag inside - David was thrilled about this little tea pocket
The inside of the card - Angie is 59...
But in March at the Cowboy Cookout for Dads Greg was 16, doesn't seem quite fair.
David made a scrap book of his year and it is amazing!  Isn't that a cute Panda he made on the cover?
Here are a few pages from the book...

So incredibly thankful to be the mother of this sweet, spunky, happy little boy!
