Week 5 of the Pandemic began with celebrating a friend in a birthday parade.

The we took a family hike and trip down to the San Gabriel river.
Monday school came and Holly read with David.
David learned a magic trick too.
And Adam made his teacher laugh with his math assignment. She said it was the best video she had received.
Tuesday Adam played grocery store... one of his school assignments.
Tuesday Adam dressed in all stripes for bed.
He asked to take a picture looking like he "fainted."
Wednesday we made cookies.
And then Wednesday night our family changed forever. Greg lost his middle brother very unexpecdetly to cancer. His parents lost a second son. Our neices and nephew lost their dad.
Our sister-in-law became a widow at 36. And our boys lost the uncle that always made them laugh.
The rest of the week Angie tried hard to keep the boys occupied with things that they love. She worked in limited times and the boys did very little school.
They grabbed their "packs", hiked, camped, and made a hide out. They created art, played chase with Holly and spent lots of time swinging and riding bikes.
This was a week that gave us more time rememebering what the really important things are in the world. Greg took the next 5 days to spend with his family.

Adam also hid his painted rock in the neighborhood on his way to the hideout.
Thursday morning, the morning after Jason died, David went out to the garage and made this cross himself out of scrap wood. He painted it and then wrote in paint. Jason K House. May God be with you.
Our children's pastor Zoomed with David Friday morning. He talked with her about his uncle. She read him scriptures and prayed with him. David hung up with her so much more understanding than when he started the call.
Also, Friday both of the boys teachers called them on the phone.
The boys received warm cookies delievered to our house from their teachers.
And Gram and Grandad sent the boys Chick-Fil-A for dinner.

Sunday was the viewing. Angie and the boys did not attend because of the quarentine we didn't have anyone to stay with the boys and we didn't want the boys to attend.
But the family all wore shirts that read "Team House" with Jason's number 23 on the back.
David was so proud to have received one too.

Monday was the funeral. It was a long hard day. Again because of the quaretine only 10 were allowed to attend. So, Angie and the boys had to stay in the car. They were so proud of Greg. He spoke beautifully of his brother. You could hear just how much he loved Jason.
Tuesday Greg went back to work. But Angie honestly could not concentrate Tuesday or Wednesday.
She and the boys rode bikes and went on walks and read books.
Adam had his bunny Sir Hops A Lot come with us on all of our rides.

Adam decided to eat a fudge pop on our walk... look at his face and arm.
David made Angie laugh as she was putting away the boys laundry.
Friday Angie's running partner got a new dog Ralph. And now Holly has a little friend too!
Adam had his first Google Meet with his entire class. He was so happy to see his friends.
David too had his first Google Meet with his class. He was really excited to see his classmates.
Adam wished his teacher a happy birthday on Friday May1st too!
All 5 of our caterpillars became butterflys on Friday too!
Here are some of our favorite memories with Uncle Jason
The day David was born...
Uncle Jason holding David when he came home from the hospital.
Uncle Jason holding Adam in the hospital...
Uncle Jason's wedding Day - these three all look so very happy!

These two weeks have been harder than any we have walked through as a family. Jason we miss you. And this little buddy is so much like you.
