Sunday Funday

 Last Sunday after church we headed to South Congress for lunch and a little adventure in the city.

We walked to Home Slice Pizza.  The boys loved getting their own dough ball - and honestly this is the reason to go.  The boys like being in the city - it is so different than our little downtown Round Rock.

Adam loves raw dough - this is just about all that he ate...

David loved todding his dough...

Then we headed down to The Big Top Candy Shop.  David was thrilled to find bubble gum cigarettes.  This is a favorite of his and our little 3 Star Candy shop in Round Rock stopped selling them.  They only have the candy ones... and " they don't have smoke."

Adam looked and looked...

but decided on ice cream instead of candy.

David chose a Pez dispenser and his gum cigarettes.

Once we were home we went to a friends to swim and relax on our Sunday afternoon.

It was a really great day together.

Week in Review

 This week is almost over and we are just now doing week in review from last week...

Adam loves his sleeping bag - and so does Holly.  They both drag it all over the house and both want it all of the time...

Nothing better than snow cones on a hot summer day!

We watched Hazel for a week...

Both boys were supposed to have a sleepover Thursday evening.  Both families had illness come up and we had to cancel both sleepovers.  Angie tried to make up for the disappointment with Chick-Fil-A for breakfast Friday morning.  Adam loves to live it up with a yummy box of nuggets - no matter the time of day.

David and Mimi made cookies - and he shaped his into a letter D.

We have so many little frogs getting bigger in the pond.

Friends

 We have tried to see as many friends as possible… and there still doesn’t seem like enough time!

Swimming and pizza at the pool...

Mornings in the backyard...

Friends that play until dinner time...

And take on challenges.

The night before Greg had told the boys about a Cheese Whiz fight he had in college with the canned cheese.  The next morning on Angie's weekly HEB trip she picked up a can... and these boys dared each other to try it - despite the smell.

KidStrong Leader

 Adam is now an Alpha and that means he demonstrates some of the exercises for his class.  This one he demonstrated - a pike hold.  Then he held it for 45 seconds and earned a milestone award.

Baby Reid

 Last week we went to visit David's third grade teacher one more time before school begins... she decided to come back to teaching after last year at home.  This was a fun visit for the boys... David loves Reid!

Summer Nights

 We have had a busy summer with evening activities.  David has track on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  He has math with a private teacher on Wednesday - getting ahead for 5th grade.

Adam has swim on Tuesday and Thursday and Thursday he also has KidStrong.

But we finally made it to the pool for evening swimming and dinner poolside.  We wish summer could last forever!

Austin Aquarium

 Last Monday Mimi took the boys to the Austin Aquarium.  They had a great time.  It is funny because the boys love to visit... but Greg and Angie have never been.  This is a summer tradition that they have gone with Mimi, Gram and Grandad and even Aunt Christie.  We are so thankful for our families that are willing to watch our boys while we are working... and give them beautiful summer memories!

And of course Mimi let them shop for souvenirs in the gift shop.
