Falling to 40 Months

Today our sweetest David turns 40 months old.  He is still full of energy.  David is becoming more independent and paving his own path these days.  He is enjoying school and we love hearing him talk about what he does at school each day.
David loves his brother - some days he wants to be with him a little too much.  David continues to be outgoing and happy.  These days he tries to be "tricky" or "silly" and continues to use imaginative play most of the time.  We have been blessed by this energetic, happy, and strong willed three year old.  Happy 40 months David!

Happy First Day of fall from our little pumpkins!

Sharing

Adam grabbed the first of many of David's toys on Monday... we are still working on sharing.  David does really love his brother even if he does not love the idea of sharing his toys!

Story Time

Yesterday we had a play date at Barnes and Nobel after Stroller Strides.  As we were driving Angie was reminding David of the play date.  This is the conversation in the car:
Angie: David, remember we are going to the bookstore for story time after Stroller Strides today.
David: But mom I want to go the the book store Mimi takes me too.
Angie - (realizing that David meant the library Mimi takes him too that has a real Jeep to drive and a café) she says, David this bookstore has books we can buy, toys we can look at, and a Starbuck's in the middle.
David: Interesting Mom, it is interesting that the bookstore has a Starbucks, interesting.

Here is David waiting for the story to begin...
 And Adam waiting...
 Being a good listener...
Pretending to be a mouse like in the book...
Getting a turn playing the ukulele
 And coloring

Adam did great the entire time and was even patient while David chose three new books to bring home!  Such sweet boys!

Mimi's Back!

Yea, Mimi is back.  David has been telling all of his friends that his Mimi is in London.  Well today we visited with her just a bit and of course she came with David's favorite things.
Fireman Sam toys and books and chocolate!!  This little guy was in heaven... until Mommy made him take a nap.
Adam got some very sweet new clothes - perfect for his baby dedication and Christmas.

David loved his little chocolate mouse.
Even Mommy and Gram received treats from Mimi.  Thank you Mimi for thinking of us on your trip!

On a side note - when David was three months old Mimi and Ed took a trip to London.  Here is David with a few gifts from that trip and David is still able to wear those soccer shorts .

Constructions

Sunday after church David decided he wanted to make smoothies.  He occasionally asks Angie to do this with him on week days.  However, with Adam it just usually does not happen.  So, Sunday Greg was home and this is the conversation that happened in our house at lunch time,.

Greg: David what would you like for lunch?
David: A smoothie.  Dad lets make smoothies. (side not he pronounces smoothies like smoovies)
Greg: Ok, lets get out the blender
David: (opening the freezer to grab frozen fruit) Yes, we know the constructions Mom, Me and Dad know the constructions.

Sweet boy was thinking of instruction and ingredients, but knew that construction means to build something.
Love these small moments with this little guy!

Alike But Different

Friday our sweet Adam turned 16 weeks old.  Look at him sleeping Friday evening after a long day of play with his Grandpa's.  Oh how we love him!

This birthday of sorts prompted Angie to go back and look through pictures of his last few weeks with us.  Looking through she remembered David around the same age.  We are incredibly lucky to have such happy babies!

Babysitter Blessings

The Grandpa's stepped up the last two weeks and took care of both Adam and David while we worked.  Gram was working too and Mimi was on a much deserved European vacation.  We could not have asked for better days.  The boys were good and the Grandfathers were top notch.  Both days when Angie got home she could hear squeals of happiness before she even entered the house.
Thank you Grandad and Grandpa Ed for taking such great care of our boys.  David has asked to go home with both of you since you left... he may not have had as many rules with the two of you!
