17 Months of Happy

And so today our Adam Samuel is 17 months old.  With each passing day he becomes more independent and less baby.
He is definitely a walker and is quickly transiting to runner.
He is happy most of the time.
He is one that loves music and to his dancing he has now added singing.  The sweetest, soft, high pitched singing voice fills our home and it can make a parents heart smile in an instant.
He is our eater - most mornings he wakes up saying, "Eat, Eat!"  and he ends his days saying "Eat, Eat!"
He almost always requests a utensil at meal time - he is not picky about spoon or fork, he just wants something.
He is tough, funny, focused, and loving.
He has not added any signs lately - but he is now talking with two word sentences such as "Go Outside."  Which really sounds like "Ga Side."
Or "Where David?"  Which really sounds like "Whr Day Dayd?"
He still loves his brother and his Daddy -asking for them both first thing in the morning when Mama tells him he has to wait to eat.
It does seem like time has moved oh so fast with Adam, but at the same time it is hard to think about life without this sweet, strong willed, silly, boy.
You are loved Adam - Happy 17 months.
Here are a few shots from his bath last night!

David's Work

David loves to "work."  Sometimes he works like Daddy and Mommy and other times he likes homework like his older cousins.
While Angie cooked dinner Tuesday night and Greg worked in the yard our busy 4 year old was drawing.  He has taken more and more of an interest in drawing.  It is so much fun to see how his drawing is evolving.  This is David's Monster!

He also took the opportunity to do some "work" with Serving Hearts at his school.  This is an outside of school activity once a month.  Tuesday Mimi took him to school early so that he could draw pictures for the boys and girls at our local Children's Advocacy Center.  He had a plan of what he wanted to draw for them the night before - he does have a sweet heart even though he is all boy!
So proud of his hard work!

Police Visit

Today after Stroller Strides an Austin Police Officer came to visit us.  He let the kiddos crawl all over his car and ask questions.  The goal was to let children know that Police Officers are nice and that they are helpers in our community.  David and Adam were probably the only two kids that had no apprehension toward the officer.  David was full of questions, the only one asking questions, and Adam was not ready to get out of his car.  We love that our boys are open to new things, even little ones like this.  We talked a little about Halloween safety, but mostly it was just a time for kids to interact in a positive way with a police officer.
Thank  you Austin Police Department!
Ms. Meg brought all of the kids sheriff's badges - they loved it!  David called them all the "Kid Patrol."  David with his friend Mikey watching the officer pull up...
Adam did not want Mommy to take that Lolli- away!
 Talking to the kids...
 Exploring...

He brought them all goodie bags!

Riverfest at Riverbend

Last night was the fall festival at our church.  As usual we had a great time.  Angie invited Greg's dad to accompany her along with the boys.  Greg was working and Angie knew, now that Adam is walking, our boys would want to do different things.  She was right and so glad Grandpa Ed could join us.  Greg joined us as soon as he could and we had a fun family evening!
They even posed for their Mama first thing - too bad Adam was distracted by all of the costumes... he is smiling.
The first thing we saw when e walked into the fellowship hall was this - of course our Superman wanted to try this bounce house out first!
 So happy this little guy!

Adam bounced too - in a smaller bounce house... he loves these things now.  The pictures of him did not turn out, but he had just as much fun!
 Taking it all in!
Now on to the games.  It was hard catching pictures of both boys because they literally wanted to go two different ways the entire evening.  Here is David at the ring toss.  Adam stayed in a different room for the dance party.  He loves his music and dancing.

 Football toss...
 Go Fish!

Outside Inflatables... Superman Scaling the tallest slide!

 Snack break...

Our little lion - so proud to walk!

A Little golf with Grandpa Ed...

Costume Parade - This is the first year David did not want to participate.  Adam was walking until Angie snapped this shot and he deceided to crawl his way across the stage.
A little magic lesson from some magicians...

David ran into his friend Jacob... superhero was a theme this year we noticed for girls and boys.
 Hayride time!
Love this picture -  beautiful sunset last night.
A few more last minute games...

Just for fun - these boys are growing way too fast!
We had so much fun and ran out of time to do face painting, caricatures, balloon art, and many more games.  There is always next year!
