Christmas Eve

As our usual tradition we were able to attend Christmas Eve service with Greg's parents again this year.  Before leaving Angie always wants pictures and the boys, well they are boys, they oblige, but do not give it their best effort.

The service had not even started and an usher had to tell us Adam was eating his candle.
The kids always get to go down for a little sing along and usually come back with something - this year it was finger lights.  David got green and Adam red.
Here are the kids with Dr. Haney
On the way back to our seats...
Greg ran into one of our friends...
We finished the sing along with a little white Christmas and "snow"
After a very good message we finished with the tradition of Silent Night by candle light.
All is calm, All is bright, All is well!

After dinner with Mimi and Grandpa Ed we put out milk and cookies for Santa...
 Put our some carrots...

 And sprinkled Reindeer Food.

Time to snuggle into bed and wait for Christmas morning!

Merry Christmas

In this season of Advent we have tried to teach these two young sons of the true reason we celebrate this season.  Each morning we wake up and add to our nativity... well David adds and Adam takes down...

We light an Advent candle each week and have some time prayer together...  this is week 4 and David wanted to try and light the 4th candle by himself...
 Adam was watching intently!

We want our boys to understand the hope that was born on that night 2000 years ago...
 While celebrating with tradition~

And celebrating the gifts of David and Adam - gifts we waited so long to receive -
These boys bring us SO MUCH JOY!

(Elfie was in camouflage this night)
We wish each of you a warm
 Merry Christmas

From our Family to Yours!

All is well!

Luke 2:4-20 (NIV)
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

19 Months

Our Adam is 19 months old today and that seems just about impossible.
He is putting three words together more often.  Adam still is not articulate, but his vocabulary is growing.
He enjoys a good game of hide and seek and just like David at this age he will not tell you where he is hiding and will wait until you find him.
His love of reading continues and he is still a great outdoorsman.
We are enjoying his love of Christmas lights and Santa and Baby Jesus.
This little guy brings us so much joy, love and happiness.  Our days with him are full!
Happy 19 months Adam Samuel - we love you!

Family Christmas Party

We traveled to Houston and back to Austin on Saturday to attend Angie's family extended Christmas party.  The boys did well in the car.  We all had a great time at the party and the drive back was not nearly as hard as Angie thought it would be.  It was nice seeing family that we have not seen in a while.  The boys played with many cousins.  And we are glad we were able to make the trip!
