Candy Cane Olympics

David's advanced history teacher is so good at getting kids to love learning history.  There is big mix of high energy, games, collaboration, teams, and high expectations.
She also makes things fun and on the day before winter break she created the candy cane Olympics.
She also sent the families the video along with the materials lists if we wanted to play any of the games at home over the break.
We are very fortunate that the middle school teachers that David is surrounded by are very much invested in their students and their work.
David's team won the candy cane Olympics!

Christmas at Gram and Grandads

We celebrated Christmas with Angie's side of the family the day after Christmas.
It is always a fun morning because our Christmas lasts just a bit longer.
Adam was so excited about his remote-control car.
Aunt Christie gave him two different Harry Potter Lego sets that he really wanted.
And new book from Gram and Grandad.

David got a fishing trip from Gram and Grandad.
Aunt Christie gave him a fishing lure storage pouch and gift card for more fishing gear.

So many good gifts this year!
Angie got everything on her list, a new cutting board, new ceramic pan, bracelets, and a spot vac for stains.
We took a walk in the neighborhood together...

Played games...
Ate at Angie and Christie's favorite Mexican spot...
Listened to some good singing from Lila

Played the money drop game, Lila came out the big winner!

And just enjoyed a few days of being "home."

Christmas Day

The boys woke us up at 5:00 am singing jingle bells.
One day we will miss their Christmas morning excitement.
Here they are coming down to see if Santa arrived...
Adam was interested in David's paddle for his new kayak.

The boys checked Holly's stocking before their own. Santa brought her some Harry Potter tennis balls. She loved them all.

Then they looked in their own stockings...

and then gifts.  Each of the boys had 6 gifts to open,

After that we went to Mimi and Ed's for the House Christmas...

And then it was off to Uncle Rusty's for the Rogers Christmas.

It was time to head to Gram and Grandad's for a fourth Christmas the day after Christmas.
Merry Christmas
