Today we met we David's pediatric GI. We received good news. Our battle of weight is still on - full steam ahead. David was given two additional supplements plus an appetite stimulant. It seems right now that David could possibly have a stomach that does not digest quickly and so he feels full very soon after beginning a meal.
Our task: to get 1000 calories in him everyday for the next 4 weeks. If we do this and he gains weight we have solved the problem. If we do this and he still does not gain a certain percentage of weight we are on to more tests and procedures. So, we will have to give in and as the doctor told us today, change your philosophy about food. David needs butter, cream, oil, etc.... Our organic non processed food diet has not given David the fat he needs.
We feel very confident that we are on the road to gaining weight and know that our prayers were answered today. The doctor shared that he does not see any developmental delays and does not feel that there is a significant medical issue. We are very thankful for this great news.
