Spring Break with Gram and Grandad

On Monday of Spring Break we went to visit Gram and Grandad.
David had been reading a historical fiction book about the civil war.  So, Grandad brought out a bullet that went through David's Great Great Great Grandfather's knee in the battle of Shiloh, in 1862.  This particular battle was what this book was based around.

This is information about the bullet...

That is written on this paper too from 1862, so we couldn't tough it because the paper is disintegrating.

Angie also was able to show David her name chop from Taiwan - this was written in a different book David read.  We had fun stamping out Angie's name.

Grandad helped David walk on the ceiling - Adam did not want a turn.
The boys had a fun surprise at dinner - they loved this car.

Adam built trains with Gram and Grandad - something he has been wanting to do for about a month.  He says Grandad builds the best tracks.

Gram and Grandad were dog sitting Rosie and Sugar so the boys had fun with them...

We went to Kemah and had so much fun!  Grandad challenged the boys to run through the splash pad without getting wet...

We fed the stingrays, but they were a little aggressive for the boys.

Then we headed down the boardwalk to all of the rides!

Adam rode the carousel...
While David rode the aviator...

Adam rode the ferris wheel...

And Grandad and David rode the tallest wooden roller coaster together... Adam was sure it would fall off.  David loved it.

Then we all rode the train before lunch.

After lunch we headed out for a little playtime on the playground...

And we finished the afternoon with ice cream...

When we got home it was time to walk the dogs...

And feed the fish...
David and Grandad had some target practice...

Turns out David is a pretty good shot...
The boys slept well that night.
The next morning Adam made a Jurassic World...

And Grandad helped David plant his very own living Christmas Tree.

They found this Salamander hiding in a pot...
Adam helped Grandad feed the birds...

We had such a fun couple of days with Gram and Grandad.
