Drink Stand Wars

A couple of weeks ago Megan and David decided to have a lemonade stand.  They worked all afternoon making signs, mixing Lemonade, they made a commercial that looped again and again advertising their stand and packing up their supplies.

When it was time to head out and the work had been done Adam asked if he could join them.  Being the older almost fifth graders, they both immediately said, "No!"
Then Adam asked if he could be their sign twirler.  He made a sign and stood next to their stand for an hour and a half dancing to bring in business.

They had a successful stand and made $50.00

The next Wednesday they Adam decided he wanted to have a competition. So, he had a Kool-Aid Stand right next to their Lemonade stand.  Adam did all of the work by himself, making his signs, mixing his Kool-Aid and packing his supplies.

Well, Adam had told me that he was going to donate his money to the Children's hospital.  And he really did ask me to figure out how.  So, I called and was given the information of what we should do.
David then decided he wanted to donate some of his.  Together they donated $40.15.

We took the money today and we are so proud of their reasons... they told the coordinator about both of their Uncles.  And she even noticed how they both became a little emotional talking about them.  She was so very thankful.  The boys are already planning a fundraiser in September for a program called "Beads of Courage." So, look for more lemonade coming soon!

They received a very nice thank you note and 2 free glasses of lemonade.
