Dedicated

Today was a very special and important day in our family. We chose to dedicate David at church today. We have sat in our church congregation and watched these dedications for years. We have attended our nieces and nephews dedications, and for many years as we watched these families dedicate their children we wished and hoped for a child of our own. We continued to wait wanting very much to be a family in front of the church dedicating a baby. While we waited for David Angie read 1 Samuel over and over again. In 1 Samuel - Hannah continued to ask God for a son. She told God that if she were given a son she would in return give him back to God. Hannah was given Samuel and then gave him back to God through Eli, the priest.
Just like Hannah we too prayed for a child. Our prayer was answered with our beautiful blessing -David. Today was our chance, in a way, to give David back to God. We introducded him to our church family and proclaimed that we would raise David in the way of the Lord. We thank our church family for providing a nurturing place for us as we grow as a family. We feel blessed to have found our church home 8 years ago. We were nurtured as an engaged couple, a newly married couple, and a married for a while couple. Now we begin to grow as parents and David has a church home where he can begin a relationship with Our God.

We thank our families for giving up their Sunday morning worship at their home churches to celebrate David with us.

1 Samuel 1:27 - I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of him.

This scripture was written on David's birth announcement, it is written on a cross that hangs on the door to David's room, and most importantly it is what we believe. David is a gift we asked for from our God - Thank you Lord for David!
