P is for Peas, Pears, and Purified Water

At David's well check Friday his doctor told us to begin introducing fruit along with the vegetables David has grown to love. We were avoiding fruit because of the sugar; we want David to enjoy a variety of vegetables.
Sunday evening we tried pears. We thought this would be a more bland fruit. The first couple of bites he really enjoyed. Then after that he began to shiver as he tasted the bite and eventually refused the pears all together. Here is a series of shots from his first bite of pears.
Here he is eating peas - the first veggie he ever tried - he still likes them and yes his face is covered in peas.

tasting...

at this point he seemed to like them - a few bites later and they were no longer tasty

Tonight bananas are on the menu.
David's doctor also told us we could begin offering David an ounce of juice out of a sippy cup. We have decided that we really would prefer he have water. So, Sunday after his pears we thought we would see if David wanted to wash them down with some cold purified water (he can't have tap water yet.) We did not know how he would take to it with no taste - but he loved it!

Here he is Monday - his second time with the sippy cup - already an old pro!
