Tradition

Eight years ago we began a tradition, during our first year of marriage, of cutting down our own Christmas tree. We always go the Sunday after Thanksgiving, take a long walk around the thousands of trees, and find the perfect tree for our home. This year was even more fun because we had David.
David and Angie as we were leaving for the Christmas Tree Farm

David high on a hay bale

Mimi and Grandpa Ed wanted to come this year

David loved the hay ride out to the trees

Bella always seems to enjoy it too - she has to wear shoes because of the stickers in the fields

we found our tree

David had a little play time before returning to the car

Daddy and David got the tree inside...

but it took us an entire week to get it decorated

finally last night we finished

10 years ago when we began dating we began collecting 1 Christmas ornament every year. As we decorate the tree we take them out and talk about the experience we have together that results in the ornament. Greg says it is like a pop quiz, but it is fun to relive the last 10 years through our Christmas Tree.
This year we had the most meaningful of all the years with David and so our ornament this year is David's foot print taken when he was 16 days old.
