At the beginning of February Angie began training with a group of friends to run the Capital 10K in April. Every Saturday they would meet for their long runs. During the week Angie would run about 10 miles on her own. And many times the boys would go with her. Not always thrilled about being in the stroller they would still cheer her on!
The race was at the end of April. And these three came to cheer on Angie at the finish. Coming across the Congress Avenue bridge after running 6 miles (with .2 more to run) to these little people so excited is something that will forever be an amazing memory. David was running along the sideline and Greg scooped Adam up and ran along with her as he screamed "Mama" in his very shrill little voice, giving her high 5's. The race had 21,300 runners and everyone around Angie was just as touched by their love and pride for their Mama. It was even the talk at Angie's workout class Monday morning.
And giving Mama all of that love wore them out on the way home.
Which was a good thing because we had a family adventure race that afternoon at church.
Here we are at the starting line...
And we are off! David actually left our family in the dust on the first lap... we went through the course twice.
Photo Finish! Adam really wanted to run in before David... almost.
Greg convinced the boys that we won first place! And they were thrilled... there were actually no winners in this race - just fun.
Family time - outside - doing what we love. There is nothing better than time together.
Great job on your race! What a fun race at church. 1st place! Impressive:)
