First Day of First Grade

David began a new chapter as he entered Old Town Elementary as a first grader yesterday morning.
He was anxious, but it went better than our kindergarten first day.  We simply love his teacher.

The night before first grade these brothers slept soundly together just like they have all summer.
Adam will miss his brother so much!
On the way home from taking David to school he said, " David will be so sad that he doesn't have anyone to play with at school that starts with /a/.

Walking to school as the sun rises - these three are everything.
David with his principal Ms. Ionotti.
David at his desk.  He is number 7 again this year.   They line up in number order and he has been 7 two years in a row - lucky number 7!
 Getting to work!
One last hug before we leave.
These three were not in class together last year, but they are great friends and will be together all year as first graders.
Through the day Angie received many texts as her friends would pop in and check on him.  It really does ease our hearts that there are so many people at his school that love him well.

around 8:15:

around 11:00

And about 6 or 7 texts throughout the day with happy messages about David's day.
After school he rode the bus home.
When Angie asked about his day, as he ran off of the bus, he said, "I loved it!"
Friends at the bus stop at the end of the day!
