The week before Thanksgiving David's school had a reading night. Children were encouraged to come in their pajamas to hear stories and listen to an author. David really wanted to go. It was tough because Angie was teaching a class late that evening. SO, she picked the boys us at 6:00 and they headed straight back to David's school. Adam was hungry and tired, but was a trooper for his brother. Greg came and picked Adam up as soon as he could.
We started in a room with Mrs. Guevara, David's kindergarten teacher. She is a brilliant story teller. You can see Adam on the left and David on the right.
Adam was very engaged and wanting to answer questions.
Then we went into Mandy Estes. She at one time was Angie's assistant principal. Then she was the assistant director of elementary education for the district and Angie's direct supervisor as an instructional coach. She is now the chief of the Department of Teaching and Learning. She is Angie's supervisor's supervisor. But on this night she was a reader and David loved her choice of book.
Then it was time to go hear Don Tate. He made an impression on David. David immediately came home and began drawing and writing just as he had seen.
