They took their walkie talkies to communicate with each other across the preserve.
David made a torch was was very upset when he was not allowed to light it.
Monday started with a bike ride for the boys while Angie ran. This happened about 4 days this week. Angie has started her work later each day to get outside time in with the boys before it is too hot outside. During this Pandemic we have been through winter, spring and summer temperatures.
Both boys has research projects to do this week. David researched Saturn. Here are his notes from his reading.
His final product...Adam's notes... he researched birds...
Here is his book... he wanted no feedback or support in the research or making of his book...
" How Birds Live"
The boys both bpught Lego sets from Target with their gift cards. They worked independently for about 3 hours the day they came... which was perfect because it rained the entire day.
Holly got in lots of walks this week... he leg seems to finally be feeling better.
Part of Adam's sciene this week is that he had to create a zoo. He did this all on his own too. We had fun visiting the zoo.
The Thunderbirds from the US Air Force flew over all of the hosptials in Central Texas on Wednesday... they went right over our neighborhood twice. The boys, especially David loved this.
When we got home David ran straight upstairs because he ralzied that he had a toy Thunderbird... we never had noticed it as a special plane before.
Also, the helicopters from Fort Hood Flew over on Friday morning - visiting all of the hospitals.
Greg found a snake in our backyard...
Friday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day so we drove through for our free cookies.
Friday night we partcipated in a parade for the health care workers at one of our local hospitals. Many of the nurses and doctors were able to come out and many were inside looking out from the windows - and some patients were able to see the parade too.We wanted the boys to know that there are people working hard every single day. One of the things Jason said before he did was that being in the hospital for 3 weeks with no contact was really difficult. This parade, for our little family, was to remember the healthcare workers, and to remeber the patients.
The boys made this sign to hold in the parade...
Thursday night the boys and Angie were out on a walk. David saw this basket ball goal on the side of someones yard. He walked up to the front door and asked if he could have it. They said yes... so we waited at this house on the side of the street with two boys, two bikes and Holly until Greg could get home. David didn't want someone else to get it. Then once Greg was able to leave work he came straight to get it... in his work clothes. We loaded the back board into the back of Greg's truck with the rest hanging out. Greg rode in the back holding the very heavy goal while Angie drove home slower than a snail. David is so happy about this find... we finally got it up on Saturday. Greg needed to repair a leak in the base.
And that is the week in review.
