We were hit with an ice storm this week. It was nice to have unexpected time at home as a family.
There was time reading, practicing math, practicing guitar and drums, play time with friends, Lego building, and walks to take in all of the ice. We always home for a pause of cold weather in February thankfully we didn't lose power like so many in Austin.
Monday morning Adam came down dressed for winter and even ate breakfast bundled up.
Getting in the car for school - he was ready with gloves and all.
The boys came home from school Monday with the announcement that school would be cancelled on Tuesday. Monday night we couldn't find Holly and found her bundled up in a chair in the office, even she was cold.
But, by 10:00am we had received a call that Wednesday would be cancelled too. And it became very ice in the evening and through the night.
Wednesday morning, it was time to walk Holly and David and Holly had to talk themselves into it first...
Holly was snuggled up warm on the couch...
Checking the weather forecast
There was exploring and playtime on and off all day long...
There was Lego building...
And game playing...
This is the Penny Backer bridge, by our church - the ice cycles are just incredible...
