Snow Day 2018

Well today is back to reality.  Angie walked David to school this morning in seriously 12 degree weather.  We had snow yesterday, but our air was so very dry that it didn't take long before it would evaporate.  So, there was no ice accumulation yesterday.  We had such a great day Angie was really wanting one more day to stay snuggled at home with her babies.  But this morning came and we are already waiting for the bus to bring David back home!
Our day was so full yesterday.
It began with David coming into our room at 5:30 am and telling us he was watching the news and that three roads were closed.  Angie responded ok - remember you are not going to school.  15 minutes later he was in our room again telling us there was ice on the roads.  15 minutes after that Adam was in our room asking for breakfast.  And so these two were still up when we could have stayed snuggled for so much longer.  We asked them to snuggle in bed with us, but they were not having it.
Greg got up. Angie got up.  And we began our day with a card game called "Go Diving."
After that Angie made breakfast, French toast was on the menu for yesterday morning, usually it is frozen waffles and get out the door.  After that Angie read to the boys and both boys read to her.  Greg was upstairs working.
Then the boys began to play.  And Angie decided to head out for a run.
While she was running it began to snow .  If Greg hadn't needed to get to work she would have run more than 5 miles... it felt great out and the run was magical with snow falling.  If you look closely you can see a few small little snowflakes on Angie's scarf and jacket.

When Angie returned home the boys had made "caves"

And Angie found a little warrior and his hamster...
One of the books Angie read earlier that morning, repeatedly upon request, was a Super Friends book.  And Adam made his own headquarters where he called for his Super Friends through this "microphone."

Greg left for work about 10:30.

And the boys continued to spend their day together.
Next up was life on the Ranch... Joy received many rides in the covered wagon during the day...
And the entire play room became the ranch...

After lunch the boys wanted to bake, but of course they couldn't agree on the same dessert so we made two.  And they may have taste tested again and again...

After that, we called Gram and Grandad... the weather in Houston was much more cold, icy and dangerous.  As we were talking with them it began snowing at our house again.  So, we headed outside.
Monday night Greg and David filled this milk jug with blue water.  They put a tiny hole in it on Tuesday morning so we could have a very slow drip hoping to create a long icicle.  Instead the jug cracked....
It really was snowing, but the camera didn't pick up the flakes.
David loved the ice on his table and slide... Adam wasn't too interested.  He thought it was too cold.

 No Jacket!:(
David creating is own ice science investigations...
David talked his brother into coming back outside for a few barrel races...

And then they both came back in and headed upstairs to create a pet store.
They literally played pet store for 2.5 hours....

While Angie cooked dinner the boys came downstairs to paint...

Greg had late patients so Angie let the boys have dinner in their caves...
Adam had already gobbled up his avocado before Angie could get the camera.

And then the day ended just as it began.  Angie read to David for an hour which meant he had over 2 hours logged for reading yesterday.
And Greg came home and played Go Diving with Adam.

And this day makes today so much harder because it simply was a perfect day!
