Colorado - Day 2

Day 2 began very early as the boys were up and out of the cabin exploring.

The big ticket item of the day was Pike's Peak.  Here are the boys ready to go with their hiking backpacks and Katie.

On our way up Pikes Peak we continued to see these little animals.  We later learned they are called Marmots
 Beautiful views everywhere...

David loved the thickness of the ice along the road.

We made it to the top!

David really wanted to have a snowball fight

Inside the gift shop with Big Foot...
 And a Big Horned Sheep

A cloud rolled in... we were standing in the cloud and could see nothing.
David is falling off of the cliff...

This little guy was not skittish at all.

On out way back down...

On our way back down...

We stopped in Woodland Village for lunch...
We saw dinos while we where there...

 And another beautiful view.

The boys loved this jeep - especially with the top off.
 Back at the Ranch...
 We spent time hiking...

 fishing...

and kayaking.  David really wanted to kayak.  We were reluctant, but agreed and told him if he fell in that he couldn't panic.  HE got in and never wanted to get out.  He kayaked every single day.

 Feeding Tucker, Tanner, and Jasmine...

That evening we went to a Wolf Refuge...for a feeding tour.  We got to see every wolf eat their dinner.

After watching the wolves eat we were hungry too.  We went to dinner and David also enjoyed dessert.
Back at the Ranch Greg and David went on a night hike...

Another great day with two little boys sleeping well to end the night.

  1. That was a busy day with some beautiful views! It looks like the boys were having a blast! David sure is brave to go across the pond by himself in the kayak. The wolves are impressive!
