Colorado - Day 3

Good Morning!
Thursday morning we found the boys snuggled together rather than in their separate beds like we left them the night before.  They do this at home too and we love that they enjoy snuggling together.

David was up and off early to Hope Lake to kayak with Greg.  Adam and Angie hung around the cabin exploring and finally making their way over to the lake.

Adam spotted this camouflage bunny as they hiked - Angie never would have seen it.

Fun early morning at the lake...

After an hour or so at the lake we drove about an hour back over to Royal Gorge.  This was Adam's favorite adventure of the trip.  A dinosaur park with animatronic dinosaurs.  He names every single one and gave us little facts... and he was correct.  We knew he couldn't read the signs and didn't realize just how much he actually knows about dinosaurs.

There was also a choice of Ropes courses and they both chose the smaller of the two.

After lunch we went white water rafting.  This was supposed to be a calm family float.  Upon arriving the owner asked to speak with one of us privately.  It tuned out that the river was running higher than it had been in 20 years.  And by the end of the week they were expecting the river to be at a record high.  That meant it was running incredibly fast and would have much higher chance of the boat flipping.  We really thought it over and decided that we would go on the trip because the boys were really excited.  We were nervous, but it honestly was Angie's favorite part of the trip.  The trip is usually a three hour trip.  It only took one hour on this day.  The trip is typically considered a level 1.  This trip was a level 3.  But the boys LOVED it.  The first part of the trip Adam kept saying, " I can't wait for the boat to flip."

We stopped for dinner on our way home in Florissant and the boys had fun playing games while we sat to take in our day.

Day 3 was another fun day of adventure!
