Just this week he decided on his own to write Santa a letter. He got out his own paper and pen. He decided to cut the paper in half; when that was frustrating for him he just ripped it in half. Then he wrote his letter... Dear Santa, Here are some cookies. I have been good. Love, David.
He then placed it on the fire place so Santa could see it. The thing that strikes us is that he already knew how a letter should go. He knew what Santa would want to know. So he knows structure and content. Then to top it off he has some vision of where Santa would probably see this little note of his. We have never sat down to teach him these things - we just write in the air often as we write on paper, many times at bedtime... We guess he is hearing us. Later in the evening when Angie was cleaning she glanced at the note and noticed David's pen was not working,... you could see indentions of scribble , but no ink. Poor guy - he did not seems to mind we guess.
David continues to be social always wanting a playmate - not very often Mommy anymore. He has favorite friends and has come to that stage where he no longer wants to play with girls. In September his best friend was Ella, a girl. Now they play because their Mama's are friends.
These changes that occur so quickly make us want to stop time, to sit him in our laps, and never let him go.
We love you David Scott House - you changed our world the minute we knew of you - and life has never been better!
